Product Overview
Our Steel Backing Flange, also known as a backing ring or loose flange, is an essential component for creating strong and reliable flanged joints in HDPE piping systems. Manufactured from robust Q235 carbon steel, its primary function is to provide the mechanical reinforcement required for bolted connections.
The backing flange slides freely over the PE pipe before a PE stub end is butt-fused onto the pipe end. Once installed, the steel ring sits directly behind the stub end collar, evenly distributing bolt loads and enabling secure connections to metal valves, pumps, and other flanged equipment without damaging the thermoplastic pipe.
Drilling patterns compatible with PN10 and PN16 standards are available, covering sizes from DN50 to DN1200 for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
